| Big Wave Bay, Hong Kong |
Well, after a long hiatus, I am back to blog my way around the world again! Yes, I am doing it again this summer. I leave this evening, so this intro blog will be swift and sweet as I have to finish packing! This morning I read a post by someone who travels ultralight--only takes a day pack. I'm impressed, but don't think I'm quite up to that yet. I am trying to learn to pack lighter--especially when traveling in places like Europe where you can buy anything you might have forgotten. However, I don't like to spend my traveling time shopping for things like toothpaste.
So here's the itinerary this year:
Hong Kong to Istanbul. Two weeks traveling around Turkey with the Lanshe family-my mother-in-law Carol and her sister Olive (the energizer-bunny seniors I hung out with on the east coast last year) from Virginia; my sister-in-law Anne and her husband Bob from Maryland; another SIL Liz, from Vienna--who I stayed with last summer while exploring Austria; and my niece Claire, coming from Kyrgyzstan where she's in the Peace Corps!
| Carol and Olive last 4th of July in Cape Cod-another adventure! |
| Liz and I last summer biking in Vienna. |
Istanbul to Brasilia. Meeting Ken there and picking up ZACH!! Yes, pretty excited about that. Two weeks traveling around Brazil with Ken and Zach, including Iguacu Falls, Sao Paulo and Rio!
| Yes, we will be picking up Zach after two years of serving the people of Brasilia! |
Brazil to Santa Barbara. Three weeks in California visiting family and friends (you know who you are!)--including a jaunt down to Encinitas to hang with Chris and Kristen before they make their exodus to grad school in Chicago.
| Hoping to get in on some fiesta action again this summer! |
| And some beach marshmallow roasting. |
Santa Barbara to Seattle. Three weeks in Washington visiting Jon, Sarah and THE GRANDKIDS! And taking Zach to school at BYUI.
| Looking forward to spending time with these monkeys! |
| And visiting the beautiful Rexburg, Idaho Temple with Zach! |
| We'll have new adventures this year! |
Seattle to Maui. One week in Maui visiting my longtime friend Dana and exploring her home, Maui.
| Dana and I last summer hiking in Oahu. |
And we're definitely doing some of this--sunset/shave ice!
Maui to Guam where I'll meet up with Kenny for four days of diving, etc.
Diving!
| With this guy! |
I invite you all along for the trip- and you don't have to do the stressful stuff like sit on airplanes for 12 hours or pack!

Hey...sounds like a great trip ahead of you. We picked up Harrison after his mission in Brazil. We took a jaunt with him to Rio as well. It is such a beautiful city.
SO FUN! HOw come you chose Turkey? I've never even thought of going there until my cousin from Belfast started going for his summer holidays. Enjoy!
