Shaun needed to leave China for his visa renewal, so last weekend we went to Macao. We had a terrible thunderstorm the night before, and weren't sure if we should go or not. We wound up going, and though the thunderstorms followed us to Macao, we had an enjoyable day hanging out at the Venetian. The Venetian is HUGE--10,500,000 sq.ft.! That's like, 182+ football fields? (if my math is correct--which it very possibly is not.) Anyway, it's a big place.
We wandered around, did a little shopping, ate some good food, watched the crazy Chinese gamblers at the casinos, rode a gondola,
listened to some Italian opera singers,
ate some more good food, wandered over to the Hard Rock hotel during a lull in the rain, watched some truly bizarre (but free!) "4-D" (not sure what qualified it for being 4D--there were trippy jellyfish/aliens that descended from the ceiling, and water that shot up under the jellyfishies, and the images were projected across the whole sides and ceiling--sort of like a planatarium)

Giant tiger image prowling around the room.
I wasn't exaggerating about the jellyfish/alien things.show at the Bubble, and then came back to the Venetian and went to Zaia, the permanent Cirque Du Soleil show there. Which was fantastic by the way; very magical.
